As you have undoubtedly noticed and are aware, school is back in session and school-goers of all ages have returned to their respective grindstones. Only one sentence into this week's article, you are already wondering why I've brought up this obscure yet obvious fact.
Because of graduation, folks. Think about it...you know someone who is in the final year or semester of their educational experience at some level. Whether it's a child, grandchild, or yourself, someone in your family is about to conquer the world with their new diploma or degree. It isn't too soon to think about it. If you don't think about when I remind you, you'll forget until it's too late and you will have missed the chance for a fantastic celebration, as they'll be off to their next scholastic adventure or new career before you know it. Opportunity missed!
My suggestion for avoiding this regret? Yes!! You guessed it...a safari!! What a gift that would be! (HINT: Whatever you do, don't leave this article before you see the Wanderlist below). My recommendations start off with a private villa in South Africa within the Thornybush Game Reserve from which you embark on your private custom safari; you will have your own butler, chef and sous chef, and 24-hour concierge service. Take the whole family to fill the five bedrooms, three swimming pools, and spa - it's the perfect place to wind down after an exhilarating experience.
Is a private island sanctuary your heart's desire? Sindabezi Island on the Zambezi River in Zambia can provide you with just that. Also, yes, you read that correctly, it’s a private island. To give you a clearer picture, Sindabezi Island has five open-sided, thatched-roof chalets situated along the Zambezi River that you can rent out for your entire group. It's an ideal location for the graduation milestone event because your group can simply consist of your spouse and children or you can mix in friends and extended family members too, perhaps even another graduate's family. Taking over the island with your closest friends and family is a great way to not only transition into a new phase of your graduate's life but to also celebrate their incredible achievements.
Before closing out your graduation celebration on Sindabezi Island, there are plenty of thrills to be enjoyed in Zambia. For one, Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is where you'll see the famed Victoria Falls. While Mosi-oa-Tunya offers your group the chance to venture out on safari in search of elephants, giraffes, and rare black rhinos, the thrill of seeing these animals can only be matched by views of the Victoria Falls. If you’re interested in getting up close and personal with the Falls, consider a helicopter ride on the Flight of Angels.
Graduation should feel like the kickoff celebration of a lifetime. Whether you choose South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania or another country for you celebratory safari, there is a perfect accommodation for your group, large or small. When that time comes, get the family together to ring in this new phase of your graduate's life in complete luxury, while still getting up close and personal with elephants at the Retiti elephant orphanage strolling along the shores of Lake Bogoria, discover the amazing wildlife inhabiting the lush floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, the far reaches of the Serengeti plains, and the exotic allure of Zanzibar.
I have provided you the reminder, but it's only the start of my work. Let's begin planning your graduate's safari; I will help you craft a one-of-a-kind experience for the family scrapbook. What a wonderful way to recognize and celebrate the exceptional moments in life. To get you started, check out this Wanderlist I created. You can add to it for yourself, customizing it with activities you'd like to do/see on your family's luxury safari. Dream about the safari, and share your Wanderlist with me. If you've forgotten what Wanderlist is, check it out here.
'til next week.
